The Weekend Rundown: Rebecca Story's Performance In Total Harmony At Wendy's Invite

Story's Performance In Total Harmony At Wendy's Invitational

Next up on the schedule for Christian Academy of Knoxville (Tennessee) High senior Rebecca Story on Saturday was the Wendy's Invitational at McAlpine Greenway Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Guess what?

Story, ranked No. 3 in the Flo50 national rankings, impressed yet again with her ability to stretch out over the 5K distance, posting a solid win in 17:23.35 in what has been a conservative approach to the beginning of the veteran's season.

It was just Story's second race overall since opening on October 14, and like the result before it, she was in perfect harmony with her performance, racing just a second off her time at the Cherokee Farm Invitational (17:22.00).

Beyond Story's quality outing, however, was another result from a nationally ranked program.

Riverside (SC) kept up its strong start to the 2017 season by authoring another victory, this time finishing three runners inside the top 10 and four within the top 15.

Riverside posted an average of 19:05 and was led by lead runner Jessie Crowley, a sophomore who finished fourth in 18:23.91.
