5. Michigan's Depth Is Ridiculous

The elite race at the MSU Spartan Invitational on Saturday produced one of the best all-around performances in the girls field nationally so far.

Lansing Catholic (Michigan) High senior Olivia Theis shot up the national rankings with her important 16:59.00 result, going from No. 20 in the Flo50 rankings to No. 3.

But Theis wasn't the only runner to meet expectations.

Hart High junior Adelyn Ackley continued to race well, finishing second in 17:22.30, while Lansing Catholic's Jaden Theis was third in 17:26.80.

Ericka Vander Lende was fourth, Sielle Kearney was fifth, Rylee Robinson was sixth, and Anne Forsyth was seventh. Six runners ran under 18 minutes, and Theis earned the second-highest speed rating of the season with a mark of 155.
