4. Hewitt-Trussville Invitational (AL)
One of the premier races of the day takes place in the 800m, where a Class 6A cross country champion, Lainey Phelps, goes up against a Class 7A runner-up in XC, Grace Jenson.
Phelps, a freshman out of Homewood High, has leg speed to boot with a PR of 2:11.97 earlier this year at the Mobile Challenge of Champions, while Jensen, a junior from McGill-Toolen Catholic, finished third in that same meet in 2:13.79.
Jensen, however, won her class's AHSAA indoor state championships in 2:13.74, while Phelps took her class in 2:12.43. Phelps also has a 1600m outdoor PR of 4:58.26, while Jensen has run 5:05.91.
