A blazing straightaway was found at last year's Great Southwest Classic in the elite girls 100 race, which KaTia Seymour from Palatka High School in Florida made the trip all the way out to New Mexico to race against two of the best from Texas in Kaylor Harris and Sha'carri Richardson. Seymour won over both Texas stars in a wind legal 11.26 clocking, which is top among all 100 meter returnees in the nation for this spring.
