The power of a well packed cross country team can truly elevate a team to many meet victories. Even without a true #1 runner or low score card. Well that is definitely the case if team's top is both fast and can maintain a tight spread. Check out these top teams across the country who put up some impressive team averages and spreads at the same time. 

Nation's Best Packed XC Teams:


At least 50 boys teams nationally have a top 5 spread under 35 seconds and a top 5 average under 16:25 for 5K. The Great American Festival champions from St. Xavier in Kentucky lead all with 5 guys ranging from 15:37 to 15:44. They do not need a true front runner on their squad when they have an entire top 5 under 15:45 and #6 man as a backup at 15:58. A good reason why they are considered favorites to qualify for Nike Cross Nationals out of the Southeast Regional.
