What to watch: The fastest run of the day could potentially come out of the Rated race instead of the Sweepstakes race thanks to Allie Schadler. The three-time Arizona state cross country champion and her sister, sophomore Samantha Schadler, give Rio Rico High School (AZ) one of the best 1-2 punches in the nation. Allie, who ranks No. 11, opened her season with a 17:01.76 5K win at Desert Solstice.

In the team battle, prepare to be impressed by the depth of Great Oak. The Wolfpack could pull off a team sweep -- not just in this race and the Sweepstakes race, but the Freshmen, Sophomore and JV sections, too. Last year, they won the Rated race with 46 points, which was nearly 100 points lower than runner-up Hart High School.
