Team USA 4x100m Disqualified After World Record Run At Paralympic Games

The Team USA T42-47 4x100m relay, featuring 17-year-old Hunter Woodhall on the anchor, was disqualified on Monday afternoon for making an error in the second exchange.

The quartet had run 40.61, which was a new world record for the T42-47 classification at the Paralympic Games. Instead, the gold went to Germany, whose team recorded a time of 40.82. Brazil (42.04) and Japan (44.16) earned silver and bronze medals.

The world record still belongs to the United States: the red, white and blue recorded a time of 40.73 in 2013.

Woodhall races the finals of the T-44 200m tonight.
