Sydney McLaughlin Runs US #1, Breaks 400m NJ State Record
Sydney McLaughlin's specialty may be the 400m hurdles, but a dazzling performance at the New Jersey Group Championships proved that the national indoor record holder is not quite done with the flat quarter mile just yet.
McLaughlin ran 52.44 in the flat 400m to set a new national leader and New Jersey state record.

The high school junior also won the 400m hurdles in 57.37, a new group meet record and just off her own national leader of 56.99.
