Elena Bruckner, Alyssa Wilson Top Throwers' List
Okay, so she was already on the All-Time U.S. Top 10 List, but Valley Christian, California's Elena Bruckner's huge marks this weekend on two different days in two different meets in two different events just earned her recognition as an athlete who will go down as one of the all-time greats.
First, the discus. She jumped from No. 9 to No. 4 All-Time -- an improvement from 182-8 to 186-10!
A day later, the University of Texas commit heaved the shot put for 53 feet, seven inches to set a new national leader, personal best and a spot at No. 6 on the U.S. All-Time List.
New Jersey's Alyssa Wilson also threw over 53 feet this weekend, with a 53-4.75 mark for U.S. No. 2 in 2016. The junior from Donovan Catholic also threw the discus for 164 feet, three inches to land at No. 6 on the national leaderboard.
