Kate Murphy of Lake Braddock, Va. ran an outstanding 4:16.98 to win the 1500m at the USATF Junior Nationals to qualify for the Pan Am Junior team. The rising junior ranks No. 10 All-Time in the event, which was a nearly 10-second personal best after conversions.
The USATF announced 87 members of the Pan-American Junior team to compete at the Pan-American Junior Athletics Championships in Edmonton, Canada from July 31 to August 2. Athletes were selected after competing at the USATF Junior Nationals in Eugene, Ore. last month. Junior athletes must be aged between 16 and 19 years old at the end of 2015 to be eligible for selection.
