There is no question that Stanford gained the top true distance class. With Grant Fisher, undefeated for almost his final two years of his high school career, was without question the top distance recruit in the class. They also added a pair of NBNO 5K Champs. Ostberg, ran 14:16 as a junior, and with a 8:43 3200m PR is makes a good 1-2 punch with Fisher. Will Lauer took the crown this year in 14:35.
A pair of solid duos do rival Stanford though, notably Colorado and Illinois. Colorado went out of state taking the top names from Washington (John Dressel) and Minnesota (Joe Klecker), while Illinois stayed in state with Jesse Reiser and Zach Dale.
Maybe a surprise towards the top is Cal with three guys under 9:05. With a ringer in Robert Brandt leading their class, this could be one of the better classes when all is said and done.
