
The Waterford Mott High School boys cross country team made history last year as the first Michigan boys team to compete in a NXN regional after the state association finally allowed teams to compete in the meet. This year, Waterford Mott boys led by Foot Locker finalist Ryan Robinson are hoping to make history and become the first Michigan squad to move onto the Nike Cross Nationals. It will be a very challenging Midwest Regional for them to get out of as Ohio and Illinois both have at least a pair of formidable squads each able to legimately contend for NXN berths, while Carmel High School of Indiana will once again be competitive as well. Meanwhile, Lafayette High School in Missouri has the fastest squad overall from XC 5K times in 2013.
