Wednesday—August 30, 2006 . MY 25TH BIRTHDAY!!!
Training: AM: it's my birthday. Has nothing to do with training, but it is. Heehee.
PM: 15 minutes warmup, 30 minute tempo, 5x1 minute with 1 min rest, 10 cool down Total 64 minutes
Day Mileage: 9 miles
Week Total: 17 miles
Where: Aare river.
Weather: cool, but nice to run.
Details: Felt crappy…Things are just getting worse and worse…I think I need a break, even though it's a crappy time to take a beak since I had some races I wanted to run first…but when the body doesn't cooperate, there is no point in forcing it because it just gets worse…

My birthday…
Was AWESOME! Ueli just spoiled me to death and my boss threw me a huge party…The kids just loved it. I taught them all how to sing Happy Birthday and we partied J. I had a really, really good time…Did the things you're supposed to do on your 25th birthday…Went out for a romantic dinner, drank some wine, laughed a lot J Well, I always laugh a lot, but maybe a bit more today.

Thursday – August 31, 2006
Training: day off

Friday .. September 1, 2006
Training: 40 minutes
Day Mileage: 6 miles
Week Total: 23 miles
Where: Wolhusen.
Weather: warm and sunny J
Details: Felt stale today…

Saturday .. September 2, 2006
Training: 20 minutes warm up, 3x2,000 meters, 2 minutes rest, 15 cool down
Day Mileage: 9.5 miles
Week Total: 32.5 miles
Where: Gwatt, Spiez.
Weather: cool.
Details: Felt like crap…Each workout is just getting worse and worse. If you can't run a solid workout, you also can't run a solid race and I haven't had a solid workout since St. Moritz so my body is calling out….

Yeah…so I am taking a 3-week break. Bad timing for me to run into a hole, but every workout has just been getting worse and my body is just tired so I have to listen to it…This is a critical point where you can push through it and then risk either going into a major over-training hole or an injury. I am going to listen to my body and take 3 weeks off and then see how it goes after that….I am hoping I will feel renewed and refresh and ready to train at a normal pace again…This sucks. I've been running for 10 years now, and this is the first REAL problem I have ever had. I've never been injured, have never taken more than 2 weeks off and have always been a consistent runner…until now. What to do, what to do.
