Jordan Geist after New Balance Nationals Indoor meet record.

We're taking a deep dive into the rankings to see how this year's shot put field stacks up against the past five years. While Jordan Geist is a clear front-runner after throwing 76'10.5" for U.S. No. 2 all-time, what you may not realize is the wealth of talent chasing after him. In each of the past five years, shot put talent across the country has stepped up its game to throw to new distances. In the states that have started outdoor track already, there have been 18 athletes who have thrown over 60 feet in the shot put and one who has thrown over 70 feet. Indoor saw some of the best marks ever in shot put. There were 24 boys who threw over 60 feet and two who threw over 70.
