12th Annual PIAA Foundation

- - -

When: Saturday, September 22

Where: State Parkview Course (Reverse), Hershey, Pennsylvania

Who: Seneca Valley boys, Mount Lebanon boys, State College boys, Great Valley boys, Central Bucks West girls, Fox Chapel Area girls, State College girls, Danville girls, MS50 No. 12 Marlee Starliper

Breakdown: This is an intra-Pennsylvania showcase of some of the state's best talent. Foundation has been especially important for one reason: To get first run on the state course in Hershey--albeit backwards. For those not baptized on the Aloha hills of Parkview, this early season test will give athletes an indication what they'll need to bring come state season. Plus, this will be the season debut for Northern's Starliper, who had an incredible season season that saw her win a state championship, earn an NXR Northeast crown and finish 13th at Foot Locker Nationals. This will mark her first appearance on the course since she blazed through it in 17:50 a year ago.

As usual, there's legit talent ready to battle it out. A total of eight state ranked programs--four boys and four girls--according to PennTrackXC rankings will compete on Saturday in Hershey. And let's be clear: The course is no joke. Early forecasts are calling for sunny conditions around 70 degrees.
