First To Finish Invitational
When: Saturday, September 8
Where: Detweiler Park (Peoria, Illinois)
Breakdown: It's going to be a showdown between two of Illinois' top girls teams, nationally ranked Naperville North and Yorkville--No. 4 and No. 11 on the MileSplit50. The Huskies, who finished second at NXN a year ago but graduated their No. 1, are as strong as ever, led by junior Alex Morris and transfer Campbell Peterson. Yorkville, meanwhile, opened up its season at Detweiller on July 27 and is currently the top ranked team at 3-miles. Sooooo ... something has to give! Of course, this invitational has much more to offer, but the girls race will be the premier race of the day.
