Analysis: Ewert is one of the most compelling distance runners in the country. Some know her as an elite race walker who owns three American junior records in the outdoor 3K, 5K and 10K and one more indoor national record in the 1-mile. She also steeples over the outdoor season.
But beyond her talents there, Ewert is a natural on grass. As a sophomore competing in a strong state like Ohio, she finished third at the state championships and went 17:34.56 at the Midwest Meet of Champions, where she finished second. But perhaps her most impressive outings came at NXR Midwest, where she was fourth, and at NXN, where she produced an All-American finish with her 18th-place outing.
