The Scoop: Marlee Starliper Turns In Star Performance In Pa. And Much More

VHSL Class 4A Distance Roundup

Mostly everything went to plan for the Loudoun Valley boys on Saturday in the Class 4A indoor championships.

The Vikings cruised to a win in the 4x800 (8.01.87) and saw first-, second-, third-, fourth-, fifth-, and sixth place finishes in the 1600m between Sam Affolder, Colton Bogucki, Connor Wells, Jacob Hunter, Peter Morris and Jacob Windle

But there were a couple athletes who dethroned the Vikings in two other races where they were potentially seen as favorites.

E.C. Glass's Theo Woods took the 1000m title in 2:30.11, edging Affolder (2:31.27) and Bogucki (2:33.36), while Grafton's Price Owens -- he was less of a surprise -- out kicked Morris in the final stretches to take the 3200m in 9:24.59. Morris was second in 9:24.79 and Wells was third in 9:29.88. Loudoun Valley's Chase Dawson was fourth in 9:42.10.
