Michigan State Indoor Championships: US #2's from Goethals (10:33 3200) & Roberts (5'9" HJ)

The MITS State Championships held at Central Michigan University this past weekend had more than a handful of US top 10 performances led by two US #2's with Foot Locker Nationals 3rd place finisher Megan Goethals clocking a 3200 time of 10:33.81, while Ariel Roberts tied several others with the nation's #2 clearance in the high jump at 5'9". The Rochester junior Goethals just missed the meet record, while Roberts was a repeat champion in the high jump.

Tommy Brinn, a senior from Otsego High School and one of the top returning half milers in the country, dominated the 800 meter run with a four second margin of victory in his US #7 1:54.65.

The boys' throwing events had some impressive marks thanks to two athletes in Allendale senior Zack Hill and Saline senior Quinn Dawson. The two throwers split victories in the shot put and weight throw with Hill as the shot put winner in a US #8 61'9", while Dawson put up a US #10 66'4.75"in the weight throw.
