The Girls 1600m By The Numbers

So far this season, only four girls have broken 4:50 in the 1600m. Last year there was a record number of girls who broke the 4:50 barrier with 51 total. That's 12 more than in 2015, seven more than in 2014, and over double the number than in 2013. Although last year had a substantial field of girls run sub-4:50, the top overall time of the group was not as fast as previous years.
