Some of the most versatile sprinters can produce nationally ranked efforts in the 200m and 400m
The two sprints have crossover appeal for many -- though not all -- and that fact is exemplified in the national charts. While Florida has its fair share of standouts, including national leader Tyrese Cooper of Miami Norland -- who leads the nation in both events -- and Miramar's Jamal Walton, there are several talents that go far beyond the Sunshine state. That includes Sean Hooper of Keller Fossil (Tx.), Josiah Macinnis of Amarillo (Tx.), Tyrees Moulton of North Canyon (Az.) and Brian Herron of Lakeside (Ga.).
Graduates like Michael Norman, of Vista Murrieta (Ca.) and Noah Lyles of T.C. Williams (Va.), also took care of business across various events, including the 400m -- but they ultimately cut their teeth and set national records in the 100m and 200m.
