Just a few weeks removed from a New Balance Nationals Indoor national championship, Woodlawn (AL) High senior Jayla Kirkland can feel satisfied. 

Not only did she secure her second national title in the 60m dash in four seasons, but she also set a career PR in the process. Her 7.27 second time, the fastest over the last three seasons, marked a .18 second improvement from 2016 -- and .25 faster than her winning time in 2014. 

From a larger perspective, that's what we've tried to gain by looking at 60m times over the past several years.
