2024 Lethbridge City High School Track and Field Meet



DATE & TIME: Thursday, May 23rd (9 am 3 pm) @ U of L Community Stadium

COST:
1. Total cost of the event will be divided among the 9 participating schools. This aligns with LSAA

practice and ensures costs for the event are covered.

SFJH/FLVT/KAHS (Gr. 9 Only) - $130.00

LCI/Chinook/ICSS/WCHS/CCH/Ecole (HS) - $250.00


2. Please bring a cheque made out to Chinook High School with you to the meet and deliver it to the

announcers booth (Bruce) at the top of the stands. Alternatively, please direct any e-transfer

payments to Zak Rowley (Zak.Rowley@lethsd.ab.ca) in our Business Office.

JUVENILE (Grade 9) Mile Split Team Registration by TUES MAY 14

JUNIOR: under 16 - Sept 1, 2023 Mile Split Team Registration THURS MAY 16

INTERMEDIATE: under 17 - Sept 1, 2023 Mile Split Team Registration THURS MAY 16

SENIOR: under 19 - Sept 1, 2023 Mile Split Team Registration THURS MAY 16



NOTE
: Gr. 10s and 11s may compete up a category but must do so for ALL events and cannot drop down a

category afterwards, INCLUDING FOR ZONES AND PROVINCIALS!

ENTRIES & REGISTRATION


2. HIGH SCHOOL Athletes may enter a MAX of 4 events OR MAX of 3 track events + 1 relay OR Max of 2

track events + 2 relays.

4. Schools may enter two (2) competitors plus an alternate for each event

5. Pentathlon/300m Hurdles/Pole Vault: Qualification will only occur if there are 3 or more athletes

wishing to compete. Pentathlon is an Open Event. Pentathletes will compete in 100m, Shot Put, Long

Jump, High Jump, and 800m during the scheduled times. Points will be awarded based on Athletics

Alberta Pentathlon Standards. There will be no Pole Vault qualification.

6. Athletes MUST participate in the City Track Meet to qualify for Zones.

7. There will be no fills if one school does not have entries in an event(s).

8. All Track events will be TIMED FINALS. More than 8 entrants in an age category will have two heats

organized.



TIMELINE & IMPORTANT DATES:



Wednesday, May 15th All HIGH SCHOOL athletes (Gr. 10-12) must be registered within the SRS system

Thursday, May 16th Coaches assign events to their athletes in MileSplit, done by MIDNIGHT May 19th

Tuesday, May 21st Last call for changes AT MIDNIGHT

Wednesday, May 22nd Meet is updated with final changes (no additional changes will be accepted)

Note: No additions outside of who is registered for the event will be accepted the day of the meet.

Note 2: May 16th is dependent on the ASAA punctually rolling athletes from the SRS to MileSplit. Please enter

your athletes into the SRS ASAP ahead of the May 15th deadline if possible!



ZONE COMMITMENT
:

Athletes will be asked to commit to Zones when they receive their ribbons after their events.


HIGH SCHOOL ZONES
: Thursday, May 30th (Medicine Hat)

JUNIOR HIGH ZONES: Tuesday, June 4th (Lethbridge)

Please remind athletes to check their schedules before coming to Cities.

AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded for 1st to 5th place.
