Welcome to the 2024 La Junta Junior High Invitational Meet!
You are invited to attend the La Junta Jr. High Track meet. Below is important information regarding the event.
Date: April 5, 2024
Location: Tiger Stadium @ La Junta Jr./Sr. High School
Time:8:30 a.m. - Coaches Meeting
9:00 a.m. - Field Events begin (2 Rounds - 2nd round immediately after
1st Round)
Awards: Ribbons for 1st through 6th place.
Concessions: Concessions will be available in the pavilion at the stadium.
Fee: The cost of the meet will be $150 ($75 for boys and $75 for girls)
Registration: Registration will be closed Wednesday afternoon by 4:00 p.m. so that
we can set the heats and flights for all events.
General Information
Athletes will NOT be allowed to set up their camps on the football field. We also do not want athletes on the field unless they are warming up for an immediate race.
You can set up camps in the parking lot area and in the side bleachers of the stands. Please leave the seating area directly under the press box for spectators.
Please help police your area, control all trash and make sure there is no littering.
Restrooms are in the concessions portion of the building. There should be no athletes in the gymnasium area.
No Sunflower Seeds!!!
Each team will be allowed to have 3 participants per event and 1 relay team per event
If participants are not present at the event by the third call, they will be scratched from the event.
For running events, have athletes wear their number on their right Hip. The last runner on the relay team must have a Number Sticker.
Runners and relay teams will be pre-seeded at the check-in tent. Each school may have one relay team.
Check in for all races will be at the start lines of each race.
800 M and 1600 M runs will start with a waterfall start.
Athletes can use only spikes or running shoes.
Starting blocks will be provided.
All competitors need to check in with the clerk by the second call.
Field Events
We will have three throws or jumps for each athlete. No Finals!!
We will supply all throwing implements, please leave yours at home or on the bus.
Athletes can use only spikes or running shoes on the runways.
High jump will have three attempts per height. Starting height for girls will be 3'6. Boys will be 4'0.
Athletes need to check-in with field event official to begin jump/throws
All field events are closed until the field referee is present.
