Meet Information
Coaches:
We are excited to be able to host a meet in Balmorhea and that you have chosen to participate in the Balmorhea Bear Relays this year. We hope this meet will be good for your kids as they continue the journey towards the district meet.
Included in this letter is the meet entry information and time schedule for the meet. You will be required to enter all entries online at MileSplit and a link an access code will be emailed to your Head Coach. Please let me know if you did not receive that email. If entries are not received by the entry deadline (March 26, 2024), you will not be able to add athletes on the day of the meet, only scratches will be allowed. If you have any questions let me know.
We will have a "rolling schedule" meaning we will start the next race as soon as the previous race has been finished. The faster times will be heated last. We will run the meet as straight finals only. In field events, each athlete will have 4 jumps and 4 throws We look forward to seeing you and if you have any questions please feel free to call or text me at 432-386-2849.
Balmorhea Bear Relay Rules
General Information:
- Training room facilities will be available at the track if needed.
- Finishlynx video equipment for instant replay will be used in the event of a contested placing.
- Field events will be measured by Xactrak system.
- NO Camps will be allowed on the track infield. You will be allowed to set up camp in designated areas.
- Do not use tape on runways or track! Use halves of rubber or tennis balls.
- Use " spikes or less on the track or runway surface.
- Entry Fee: $100 per team/ $10 per athlete for teams with less than 10 runners. JV is considered an additional team .Make checks payable to Balmorhea ISD. Fees need to be paid at the meet!
- Please no sitting or lounging on pole vault/high jump mats. No athletes are allowed in the press box.
- Inform your teams to stay behind the boundaries that are put up or this may cause grounds for disqualification of your participant.
- Clean up your camps after the meet.
- No shot puts/discuses are allowed on the infield.
- Only coaches and athletes permitted in the infield all other spectators can view from outside the fence.
