2024



Welcome teams and Coaches

This is the 24 th season for the East Canton Hornet Relays. Thank

you for the teams that have been here from the start as well as those of

you who have recently joined us. Once again, we will try to run a

quality meet for you and your athletes. The meet will be run on the

enclosed time schedule.

This years Hornet Relays will be held on Saturday, May 4 th ,

beginning at 10:00 am. As usual, we would like to have all teams

headed home by 2:00 pm. Please enter the meet through ohiomilesplit

as many meets are done through this website.

Entry fees are $75 per team ($150 for both boys and girls).

Please make sure this is paid prior to competing.

The meet will be timed using Finishlynx Timing and scored with

Hytek Meet Manager. Results will be posted and can be found soon

after the meet at the ohiomilesplit website.

All rules and regulations are enclosed and questions can be

answered at the coaches meeting at 9:30 on the morning of the meet.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.- ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE
AT: ohiomilesplit BY NOON ON FRIDAY, MAY
3rd. ENTRY FEE FOR THE HORNET RELAYS IS $75.00 PER TEAM...$150.00 FOR
BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS. PLEASE SEE YOUR AD TO ENSURE YOU ARE PAID

2. - OUR TRACK AND RUNWAYS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. ONLY 1/4" PYRIMID SPIKES WILL BE PERMITED.ANYTHING LONGER WILL RESULT IN
DISQUALIFICATION

3 - COACHES
MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE AT 9:30 AM
AT THE FINISH LINE TENT....ALL SRATCHES WILL TAKE PLACE THERE FOR RUNNING EVENTS.FIELD EVENTS WILL SCRATCH AT
THE SITE.

4. - ALL TEAM CAMPS WILL BE IN AND AROUND THE VISITOR
BLEECHERS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE STADIUM.NO ATHLETE, COACH OR SPECTATOR SHOULD "CUT THROUGH" THE COMPETITION AREA
DURING THE MEET.STAY OFF THE TURF AT ALL TIMES!

5. - FIELD EVENTS WILL BEGIN AT 10:00 AM WITH GIRLS
DISCUS, LONG JUMP AND POLE VAULT ALONG WITH BOY'S SHOT PUT AND HIGH JUMP.THROWING EVENT IMPLEMENT WEIGH IN WILL BEGIN
AT 9:00 AM. - AT THE CONCESSION STAND..

6. - BULLPENS WILL BE USED TO "CHECK IN" FOR EVERY
RUNNING EVENT.THE BULLPEN FOR ALL RUNNING
EVENTS IS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE HIGH JUMP APRON... IN FRONT OF THE CONCESSION
STAND, ON THE "D" SECTION OF THE TRACK.ALL ATHLETES SHOULD "CHECK IN" TO THE BULL PEN BEFORE THE START OF THE
PRECEDING EVENT.

7. - CHECK-IN FOR ALL FIELD EVENTS WILL BE AT THE
SITE OF THE EVENT.

8. - COACHING AREAS WILL BE USED FOR ALL EVENTS.POLE VAULT IS ON THE TURF IN THE NORTHEAST
CORNER OF THE FIELD.HIGH JUMP AND LONG
JUMP IS BEHIND THE SCOREBOARD, ON THE WEST END OF THE STADIUM. NOTE: NO ONE
WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE TURF.DISCUS IS
IN THE DUGOUT AT THE DISCUS CAGE.SHOT
PUT IS IN THE GRASS, WEST OF THE CIRCLE.ALL RUNNING EVENTS' COACHING AREA IS OUTSIDE THE TRACK FENCE.

9. PLEASE USE ALL APPROPRIETE GATES.NO FENCE JUMPING

10. - WE WILL SCORE SIX PLACES.10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 1 WITH AWARDS FOR EACH
PLACE.  MEDALS FOR 1ST PLACE,
RIBBONS FOR PLACES 2-6.HEAD COACHES
WILL MEET IN THE PRESS BOX AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE 4 X 200 RELAY TO GET THEIR
ATHLETE'S AWARDS AND MEET RESULTS.

11. - TEAM AWARDS WILL BE FOR THE TOP TEAM (MALE AND
FEMALE)

12. THERE WILL BE (4) FOUR EFFORTS FOR EACH ATHLETE IN THE
SHOT, DISCUS, AND LONG JUMP BOYS HIGH JUMP WILL START AT 4' 6" AND PROGRESS BY
3" UNTIL 6' 0", THEN WILL PROGRESS BY 2".GIRL'S HIGH JUMP WILL START AT 3' 9" AND PROGESS BY 3" UNTIL 5' 0", THEN
PROGRESS BY 2"BOYS POLE VAULT
WILL START 7' 0" AND PROGRESS BY 12" UNTIL 9", THEN 6" UNTIL 3 JUMPERS
REMAIN.GIRLS POLE VAULT WILL START AT 5'
0" AND PROGRESS BY 12" UNTIL 7" 0", THEN WILL MOVE UP BY 6".

13. - INVITATIONAL T-SHIRTS WILL BE AVAILABLE THIS
YEAR FOR $10

14. - GATE PRICES WILL BE $7.00 FOR ADULTS$5.00 FOR STUDENTS

15. - SPECTATORS AND COACHES CAN NOT BE IN COMPITITION
AREAS.  
ATHLETES WHO ARE NOT JUMPERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE JUMP
RUNWAYS.

16. - NO TAPE OR ADHESIVE MARKERS ON THE TRACK OR
JUMPING AREA.  

17. - RESTROOMS ARE AVAILABLE

18. - CONCESSION STAND WILL BE WELL STOCKED WITH FOOD
AND BEVERAGE

19. - ATHLETIC TRAINER AND EMERGENCY PERSONEL WILL BE
ON SITE.

20. - TEAM BUS PARKING WILL BE AT THE SOUTHEAST
CORNER OF THE STADIUM, NEAR THE BUS GARAGE, OR AT THE WATER TOWER. ATHLETE
"DROP OFF" AND "PICKUP" CAN TAKE PLACE AT THE SOUTHEAST GATE.

21. - ATHLETE'S BEHAVIOR IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF
THEIR COACHES.PLEASE POLICE YOUR TEAM'S
AREA.A BAG WILL BE PROVIDED FOR TRASH.

22. - EACH SCHOOL IS WELCOME TO HAVE A COACH HELP IN ANY
EVENT.IF A COACH IS AT THE SITE OF ANY
EVENT AND NOT IN THE "COACHING AREA", THEY WILL BE ASSIGNED A DUTY FOR THE
DURATION OF THAT EVENT!

23. - RESULTS WILL BE POSTED ON THE PRESSBOX DURING
THE MEET AND CAN BE FOUND AT ohiomilesplit WITHIN AN HOUR OR SO AFTER
THE MEET.

24. - WE WOULD
LIKE TO RECOGNIZE ALL SENIOR IN ATTENDANCE FROM EACH SCHOOL.COACHES, PLEASE PROVIDE A TYPED LIST OF
SENIOR NAMES TO BE INTRODUCED TO THE CROWD AT THE START OF THE MEET.
