Pikeville Elementary Track and Field Meet
Hosted at Bob Amos Track
Little Tykes (grades K-2nd grade) - This age group does not need to register.
Start time: 5:00PM
Little Tykes Events: These are two events that the younger athletes will run in and the order: Girls then boys.
50 meter dash - This starts at the straight stretch, runners must stay in their lane until the end of the straight stretch. This event starts on a 3 command start (runners to your mark, get set, *fires the gun*)
50 meter small hurdles - This starts half way up the straight stretch, runners must stay in their lane, and jump over the small (12 in.) football hurdles placed on the track, until they cross the finish line. This event also starts on a 3 command start. This is not ran at the state elementary meet.
Little Tykes Scoring: The events will not be scored nor will they be timed.
Elementary (grades 2-6)
Start Time: 5:30PM
Girls and Boys Divisions
Elementary athletes can participate in 3 of the 5 events:
100 m Dash
200 m Dash
50 m low Hurdles
4 x 100 m relay ( A and B teams per school)
800 m Run
Elementary Scoring: The meet is scored based upon athletes place in the overall standings of an event. 1st place through 6th place gets a score in this order: 10-8-6-4-2-1. Points are added together after each event, and the highest scoring team wins. So the girls team may win overall, but the boys team may get 3rd, depending on their performances that day.
Fee: There will be a $5 per car entry fee.
