Meet Information

                                            Whirlwind JH Invitational Track Meet Information

In accordance with MSHSAA we will be using MileSplit to set up our meet. To enter athletes into events go to mo.milesplit.com. Entries are due by Tuesday April 23, at 9:00 AM. Since we are allowing entries up to the morning of the meet, please endeavor to make your scratches prior to finalizing your entries, it is most helpful. Each school is allowed two entries in each event and one entry per relay event. Please remember to bring your $100.00 entry fee per gender or $10 per competitor.

3:30 ~ COACHES' MEETING ~ Will be held in the shed behind the north end of the grandstand.

4:00 ~ FIELD EVENTS ~ Long and Triple Jumps will be 3 attempts with no finals and it will run Cafeteria Style with 45 minutes to finish their attempts. The Shot and Discus will be flighted and also have 4 attempts and no finals. Boys and girls pole vault may be held concurrently depending on numbers and entry heights. A reminder that this year it is illegal for an athlete to establish their steps by running away from the pit or foul line. As per MSHSAA directive, please remember to use metrics in your field entries.

4:45 ~ 4 X800 m Relay ~ Girls followed by boys (possibly together if less than 8 teams total)

~ TRACK EVENTS ~ No prelims, heats against time, fastest heat last, girls followed by boys.

FACILITIES

  • Dressing Facilities: NONE. Please come dressed for competition.

  • Track Facilities: 8 Lane International 400 meter all -weather track. No tape is allowed on the track or runways, chalk will be provided. Our shot put ring and discus ring are located north of the track. We also have bleachers at our throwing areas for spectators. The track is fenced and only competitors and coaches are allowed inside the fence.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

  • Spikes: 1/8 inch spikes only. Violators will be disqualified! Spikes are not to be worn in bleachers!!!

  • Timing: Our electronic timing system should be ready to use.

  • Starting Blocks: Provided.

  • Scoring: The scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.

  • Results: Will be available online at mo.milesplit.com as soon as we upload it and they post it..

  • Medals: Will be awarded to the top three finishers

  • Concessions: A concession stand will be open. Each coach and bus driver will be given a coupon for a meal from the concession stand.
