Dear Coach,

We would like to invite you to the Salida Middle School

Track Meet on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024. There will

be four divisions: 7th boys, 7th girls, 8th

boys, and 8th girls. (6th Graders can be part of 7th

Grade Teams)

 

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE SALIDA MIDDLE SCHOOL MEET:

1)              All participants must be members of the 7th

or 8th grade teams.

2)              The coaches' meeting will be held on the field at the

start line at 3:30pm.

3)              Four contestants in each event and one relay team in

each relay will be the maximum per school.

4)              Teams are to set up camp in the visitor bleachers. Fans

will be in the home bleachers. NO SPECTATORS will be allowed on the track.

5)              One participant may participate in 4 events, including

relays.

6)              Medals will be presented for the first 3 places in each

event in the boys' and girls' divisions.

7)              We will provide the shot put and discus.

8)              All participants must be registered by April 22nd on

9)              There will be a $150.00(or $15 per kid) entry fee per

school. (Excluding Tri-County Schools)

Have contestants listen for first, second, and third

calls.

First call- warm up, Second call-assemble at start line,

Third call- race time. Starter will set lanes and heats.

 

 

If a contestant is competing in a field event and he is

called for a running event, he should report to the running event after

checking in with the official at the field event. The contestant will have 5

minutes to report back to the field event or be passed over.

 

Coaches: Please keep anyone who is not competing away

from the track. Do not send anyone to the press box. Results will be announced

as they become available. Awards will be placed in envelopes to be given to the

coaches at the end of the meet.
