Meet Information

Participating Schools:

Alexandria, Ouachita, Pineville, Ruston, West Monroe, West Ouachita

Team Entry Fees:

$150 Entry fee for each school will be collected. Make School Checks out to Ruston High School.
Implement weigh-in:

All throwing implements must be weighed to ensure that they are of legal weight for competition according to LHSAA rules. Weigh-in will take place under the Bearcat Tent at the start/finish line of the track.

Pole-Vault Verification:  

Pole Vault verification forms must be turned in at the weigh-in station as well.  Form must be signed by the school principal and athletic director.  

Bus Parking:  

Please park buses on the east side of the stadium along the street. Team and athlete entry will also be on the east side of the stadium. 

Designated Team Areas:

The east side of the stadium (Home side) will be used for all athlete and team areas. 

Running Events/Staging Area:

Running events will be staged on the benches provided in the south end zone by finish/start line.  Only athletes preparing to compete will be allowed in the staging area.  

Restrooms:  

Restrooms will be available for athletes on the home side (east) of the stadium.

Concession:

Concession will be available on the west side of the stadium near the 100m start line.

Hospitality Room:

Coaches Hospitality room will be located in the football field house.

Admission:  

Admission will be taken at the west side stadium entrance.  Admission for all will be $10.00.  LHSAA coaching, AD, and administrator cards will be honored.  (One guest per LHSAA card)

Equipment:

All athletes must have team uniforms with team logos or school names on them, per LHSAA rules.  Relay team members must all be dressed the same. Watches are allowed for distance runners.  1 / 4 spikes only will be allowed on the track or runways.  Teams must provide their own relay batons, but a race set of blocks will be provided by Ruston High School. If you would like to use your own blocks you are more than welcome.

*All field events (except pole vault and high jump) will consist of a preliminary round (three attempts) with the top seven finishers proceeding to the final round for three additional attempts.  All attempts will be measured and the longest distance from either round will be the qualifying mark that will be submitted for the regional meet.

Meet scoring (10-8-6-4-2-1).

School Field Event working assignments:

*Make sure and be prepared to have 2 coaches and 2 student workers to properly work the event. Tape Measures and Tape Stakes will be provided by Ruston High School. Clipboards with athlete entries can be picked up at the start/finish line under the Bearcat Tent. We appreciate your help conducting the District 2-5A track meet!

Field Event Locations

Shot Put:  Behind the Football Fieldhouse north of the track. 

Discus:  Behind the Football Fieldhouse north of the track.

Javelin:  Band Practice Field located in front of RHS. Athletes must walk south down James Street to reach this grass field. Field is west of the track. Runway is a grassy surface. 

High Jump:  South end of track complex, within the first curve.

Pole Vault:  South runway with event running east.

Long Jump/Triple Jump:  

Long Jump/Triple Jump -- Girls (south runway running west)

Long Jump/Triple Jump -- Boys (north runway running west)
