A totally unique event giving all Kentucky athletes a chance to compete in the 2000m Steeplechase. The steeplechase is a fun and challenging event, contested at national, postseason events and collegiate meets. The steeplechase has long been contested as a part of the Eastern Relays (http://easternrelays.milesplit.com) but that event requires qualification.
This meet will give serious steeplers a chance to test themselves before the Eastern Relays and novices a chance to (literally and figuratively) dip their toes in the water.
Steeple-ville will be open to athletes of all abilities, but only for athletes who plan to take the race seriously and safely. We will plan to seed the races based on 1600/mile times.
We will post a more detailed time schedule once entries close but do not expect that the steeple races will begin any earlier than 6:30pm.
Projected time schedule of JV meet preceding the Steepleville Invite suggests we will start stepple races around 6:40pm, but we will not start earlier than 6:30, even if JV meet goes quickly.
