      Bogalusa's Coach Gary Magee Track Classic March 7th, 2024

Dear Coaches, Bogalusa High School, home of the Lumberjacks, will host the Coach Gary C. Magee

Classic, Thursday March 7th, 2024 at the New Gary C. Magee Track and Field

Complex in Bogalusa High School Stadium. 
Coaches meeting at 2:30

 No entry fee! All Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls teams are welcome to attend the meet free of charge.

Gate: Entry fee $5.00 Adults and Children $3.00 

Concession: We will have a concession stand open!

Entry Procedure: 

  1. All entries will be done electronically through www,msmilesplit.com
  2. Deadline: March 7, 2024 at 12:00 pm. Entries are online now; you may make changes online as

    often as you wish until the entry deadline.
  3. The meet will be limited to 8 teams on a first come basis.
  4. Teams are allowed to enter two (2) athletes per event, one (1) relay team per relay event, and a maximum of four (4) events per athlete.

 Scoring:  BHS Finish Lynx Timing system will be in use. All events 10-8-6-4-2-1

Awards: Medals will be given to all 1st-3rd place finishers, Team trophies will be awarded to a Boys Team Champion/Runner-up and a Girls Team Champion/Runner-Up.

Schedule:

  1. No Scratch Meeting.

    All entries must be in by 12:00 on Thursday, March 7, 2024 on
    www.msmilespit.com
  2. Implement weight-in and coaches meeting at 2:30
  3. All field events will begin at 3:00.
  4. The 4x800 relay will start at 3:30 all other Running events begin at 4:30 before or

    after field event competition.

*Coach, please send us an email & cell number in case of emergency or unforeseen

weather conditions, we need your contact information.

 We will have metal detector devices on site and law enforcement officers on duty.

 Field Events: Starts at 3:00 (3 Throws and 3 Jumps)

  • Girls Javelin-inside Stadium Field
  • Boys Javelin-outside Stadium
  • Girls Discus-outside Stadium/ Boys will follow
  • Girls Pole Vault- north end/ Boys will follow
  • Boys Shot-south right end of track/Girls will follow

  • Girls Long Jump-south end/Triple Jump will follow
  • Boys Long Jump-north pit/Triple Jump will follow
  • Boys High Jump-south pit/Girls will follow 

 

3:30 4x800 relay-Girls/Boys 

Running Events: Starts at 4:30 or completion of field events

  • 4x200 relay-Girls/Boys-exchange-Black to Black-anchor- Gold to Gold
  • 1600m run- Girls/Boys waterfall start
  • 100m--Hurdles Girls 33"
  • 110m--Hurdles Boys 39"
  • 100m-dash Girls/Boys
  • 800m-run Girls/Boys-1-turn stagger
  • 4x100 relay-Girls/Boys--all exchange-Gold to Gold
  • 400m-dash Girls/Boys
  • 300m-Hurdles Girls 30"/ Boys 36"
  • 200m-dash Girls/Boys
  • 3200m-run Girls/Boys--waterfall Start
  • 1600 relay-Girls/Boys-3-turn stagger exchange-Blue to Blue

 

* 1/4 inch spikes on track surface only!

* In the dashes and relays, individuals and relays will be seeded according to time sent in. 

*The faster heat will be second heat.

*The javelin runway is grass, so choose footwear with this in mind 

*Events will run ahead of schedule when possible.

* 1ST , 2ND AND3RD CALL, ALL ATHLETES SHOULD HAVE CHECKED IN!
