USATF Georgias Race Walk Committee is honored to announce that the inaugural International Race Walk Invitational Challenge will be held on August 20, 2017 in Rome, Georgia, in conjunction with the 29th Annual USA-Canada Junior Race Walk Match.
WHO: This Invitational is open to race walkers of all age groups (from youth-masters). It is being held in conjunction with the 29th Annual USA-Canada Junior Race Walk Match. During odd years, the Match is held in the USA; during even years, in Canada. The Open 5K women race walk will be contested with the International Junior Race Walk. The Open Men's 10K Race Walk will walk with the International Men. There will also be an open 1K/2K/3K race which will walk concurrently. Those races will be followed by a 4X1K Race Walk Relay. Medals to the top 3 in each each age group. For those wanting to learn how to race walk, a clinic will be held on August 19th following the Rome Gary Tillman Memorial Clocktower 5K Run & 2 Mile Health Walk. Come join us and support Team USA and Team Canada!
WHAT: Contested events:
Open 10K (men only; will be walked concurrently with USA-Canada mens race, but awarded separately)
Open 5K (women only; will be walked concurrently with USA-Canada womens race but awarded separately)
1K/2K/3K (walked concurrently; athletes can walk one or all 3 races)
4x1K relay (team of 4, any ages)
The course is a record-eligible condition course with International, Master, National & Association judges. USATF Certified Course: GA17007WC (1km loop)

8:15 a.m. - Mens 10K race
9:30 a.m. - Womens 5K race
10:15 a.m. - 1K/2K/3K
10:30 a.m. - 4x1K Relay
