Ahmed holds the nation\'s #1 800m time of 2001 with a 1:52.87. At the Massachusett\'s state meet on 2/24/01 Said accomplished an even more impressive feat: he ran to a 2:25.61 1000m. Not only was this the second best time of the 2001 season (2nd only to Mr. Sub-4 himself, Alan Webb), but this time placed him 6th on the all time boys\' list.
In addition to these accomplishments, Said also ran an impressive 4:19 mile at the Millrose Gamesgiving him a third place finish, less than two seconds off of winner Nick Schneider. On 3/2 Ahmed will show off his wheels at the New England indoor track championships, in which he is the favorite to win the 1000. Now all that is left for Ahmed is outdoors... and who knows what lies ahead, perhaps a broken record?
