\"Every day may not be good, but there\'s something good in every day.\" ~Anonymous
Astrid and I were struggling today and it was a really rough moderate long run because we were so tired. Our legs loosened up a bit, but our bodies were just pretty beat up from training camp. We still had a really good run together, because when we run together, we usually talk each other up if the other is down or we just try to bring each other up in general. Today didn\'t feel the best, but we are both really positive people so we got through it! We were thankful for the training camp we had and the people we spent time with there! We both know we got good training in at training camp, we just need to focus on recovering now. We just need to keep our heads up and KNOW that our legs will come out of their slump.

Good to Be Back Home!
It\'s always nice to come home when you\'ve been away…Although it is a different feeling than coming home, home (like in the USA with my parents)…but it is still nice to sleep in my own bed, in my own clean room, in what has become my \"natural environment.\" The weather was really nice today, but it\'s supposed to go on the downhill and get cold for a couple days, but oh well! I am enjoying it at home, although I know I have TONS to do to get settled back in…laundry from training camp, paying all the bills so the electricity doesn\'t get turned off etc…hahaha!
I am also going back to school in October to get my Master\'s degree (not sure if I mentioned this already), so I have a lot to do for the admissions process, although I am really glad that I don\'t have to take the GRE\'s to get into the University of Bern here! I hate those tests, they don\'t say anything about how I am going to do in the school\'s Master\'s program…it\'s just another added stress! But yeah, I don\'t need to worry about it…I just need to worry about digging up a copy of my HS diploma…Uhhhmmm, Errrr…. Where in the WORLD do I have THAT thing…Yeah, Oxford Area High School….Yeah, the one I graduated from like 6 years ago!!! Hahahhaha I am an OLD FART. So yeah, there is much to do before the deadline! I have a busy week ahead…

Quotes: If you don\'t like something change it; if you can\'t change it, change the way you think about it. ~Mary Engelbreit
Training details: Well, the legs felt tired yet again today and I don\'t like it…So like the quote says, I can\'t change it, but I can change the way I think about it. So I am not going to mope around and complain about how my legs hurt, but instead be thankful that I put so much work in and know that it is going to turn out for the best! I am excited for the next couple of years to see how all of my training pays off. Patience, patience and results will follow.

Wednesday – April 26, 2006
Training: AM: workout 15 times 1 minute fartlek with 1 min jog recoveries
PM : off

Day mileage: AM: 10 miles, 16km
PM: off
Week Total: 31 miles, 50km
Where: Aare
Weather: rainy and cool!
Training details: FritzBoss came on his bike to make sure Asi and I did the workout right. He has GPS on his bike, so he can check our paces in between. My legs actually felt decent and I got through all 15 with some positive and happy thoughts…During the first 10, I had absolutely nothing in my head and just ran the pace I was told to run…then as I was about to do the 11th, I started feeling really tired, so I had to rearrange my thoughts. I was thinking about how tired I was, but I knew that wasn\'t going to make me run fast, so I re-focused and started thinking about long, fast legs…HAHAHAH LONG LEGS. I started thinking about long legs….and then I ran really fast! It was cool because as soon as I adjusted my attitude, FritzBoss said, \"slow down, this was the fastest minute of the whole series…\" So it was really interesting because FritzBoss couldn\'t SEE me change my attitude, but it was funny because I consciously did and then he told me that I had just run the repeat the fastest of the whole series so attitude makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!!
