We are lucky…it is snowing in Switzerland.
Training details: Double workout day on the
hard track. Even though yesterday
was easy, it really took a lot out of our legs because the track is really
hard!
Josi's Journal
Today's
workout didn't go as well as I would have liked it to, but it went and I
finished it. We all had major
stomach problems…I am never going to eat heavy pasta before a workout
again…These Italians LOVE their olive oil. Don't get me wrong, it tasted delicious on the way down…but
then my lunch crept back up into my mouth a few times during the workout…TOTALLY
GROSS. I know. But it's true. Hey, I learned something today…Even
though I had 4 hours to digest my lunch, 4 hours aren't enough for this Italian
food! Next time, plain pasta, no
heavy tomato-oil sauce!!!
One funny point,
of which I am very proud of, is I ran all of my 200s in 35! Hahha Hey, not bad for a 10k runner or
a to-be marathoner, right? The
2,000s didn't go great, like I said, but they went. Our legs were pretty sore from yesterday and maybe the
workout took a lot more out of us than we thought. Now we have a two-day regular run break and then another
double workout.

Because of my heel, I did my workout in the
forest with Viviane and Lukas. For the first time in weeks, I felt a lot
better. The 2km, we didn't run too fast, while the 200m were harder. Breathing
went well, but I felt like I don't have a lot of strength in my legs, which I
have to build up. Also, like Josi,
I had to fight with the olive oil in my stomach, but it is always difficult to
stop eating at lunchtime. The Italian food is so delicious! I am looking forward to an easy day
tomorrow.

Sunny, blue skies, and warm.
Quotes: ""I put the L in DLL." Basically means I put the E in easy
run, but it doesn't translate as nicely.
"I miss U.K." - ME!!!
Training details: Moderate long run in the am was nice with the girls,
Livi, Asi, Vivi, and Josi um, I mean me.
Josi's Journal
Today's
run was awesome and we totally enjoyed it. The weather was awesome (warm enough for a sports bra and
shorts), the surface was awesome (wooded trails), and the company was
cool. It's always really
interesting when the crazy quartette run together…we talk about some fun topics
and do some crazy stuff when we are alone in the woods! HAHAHA! The run in the afternoon was a nice easy jog, but I
definitely felt my miles. The
exercises were pretty tough, but real good running ones…They all focused on
core strength of course! I have
come to LIKE core strength, which is a huge step from my former strong hatred
and loathing towards the infamous CORE strength exercises. My arms are tired from typing after the
exercises…so I'm going to stop.
Hah!

"Good morning, Livi." I couldn't believe
that it was already 8 o'clock when Josi woke me up. I was so tired and hungry
this morning, which didn't change the whole day. I ate everything I saw and
slept everywhere I laid down. Because we overslept after lunch, Josi and I
missed Vivi and Asi and also the bus that goes into town. A nice Italian
grandmother took us with her car to Tirrenia. In Italy the people (the most)
are friendly and laid back. No wonder in this weather!
The
training this morning was easy and fun, but my heel was hurting so I couldn't
run my normal stride. I have to
run differently so my heel doesn't hurt.
I hope it will feel better in the next days so I can run my regular
stride, instead of running the whole training on my toes. I am afraid that I will get another
injury from running different so I have to take care of my foot.
In
the afternoon Sandra pushed our abs…now the summer and bikinis can come!
