Quotes: Remember, focus on what you can control and the rest will work itself out, aight!!

Training Details: AM jog was slow of course with stretching
PM: Workout went well, felt decent. Pace started at about 4:00 per km then probably brought it down to 3:45 or so. Based on feel. It was nice to have all the girls back together again. We missed you Livia!!!

Tuesday January 3, 2006
Training: AM: SLEDDING! Was a workout!
PM: 77 minutes between DLL and DL1
Day Mileage: about 10
WEEK Mileage accumulated: 23
Where: Thun, Steffisburg, Lerchenfeld…everywhere
WEATHER: pretty warm, 37

Training Details:
FritzBoss four different main paces we are to run. For me, they are
DLL-Which I call "butta** slow" pace 5-6 min per Km
DL1-Decent pace, which I call "regular run" pace 4:30 per Km
DL2-Tempo pace, harder than regular, but comfortable 3:50-4:00 pace per Km
DL3-Up Tempo pace, controlled fast pace, 3:40 per K

My legs felt decent today. Ran a decent pace with Astrid this evening… FritzBoss told us that we are supposed to do a lactate threshold test in the next two weeks sometime. I must say, I am a little nervous to see the results! I don't know why. I guess it's like I am afraid the test will come back saying I am out of shape. Hahahha But the good thing is, is that we will do the lactate test a couple times a year so we can monitor our improvement etc… Another reason to do it is so that FritzBoss can monitor our pulse and then tweak our training paces depending on the results. So, for example, he could decrease DL1 pace down to 4:20 per k, depending on our lactate test. I am definitely interested in the results, even though I have a really weird dread at the same time. I guess for me it is like going to the doctor's to get my blood taken (I hate needles…but that is besides the point…)… I have this dread every time I get my blood taken that I will have low iron stores or something…even though I could feel completely fine in training, when I get my blood drawn and then have to wait a couple days for results, I am always afraid the doctor will come and tell me that I have low iron and then I have to start sucking on iron nails or even worse, have to have a needle stuck in me with iron dripping in me. GROSSSSSS!!!!! I really hate needles. It doesn't even hurt that much, it's just a little prick, but just the idea of a needle going into my arm! AAAHHHHH! I can't even think about it, I get whoozy. Hahaha Where are those USDA steaks? I guess I will have to settle with BIOsteaks here in Switzerland!

Wednesday - January 4, 2006
Training: AM: 60mins DL1
PM: 30mins DLL
Day Mileage: about 12 miles
WEEK Mileage accumulated: about 35
Where: Same ol' road loop with Asi
WEATHER: not bad, high of 36
Quotes: "I don't believe in New Year's resolutions. I just set goals a couple times during the year. That's why New Year's resolutions are broken. People only set them once a year, and then lose focus after about a month or two. But if you find a way to set goals a couple times a year, I think you are more likely to keep them. So forget New Year's Resolutions…Set goals more than once a year because there are times when your goals have to be re-evaluated."

Training Details: ran 60 with Asi in the am. Felt decent; however, I am scared of putting all these miles in on the roads. LOTS of pounding. High mileage and a lot on roads…but we don't have much choice around here, just gotta' get those runs in!
