CIF Southern Section Finals, CA
Elias Gedyon, Molly Grabill, Matt Carpowich, Allie Billmeyer, Armar Moussa and more move one step closer the the California State Meet with the conclusion of the Southern Section Finals.
Highlights
- Akawkaw Ndipagbor, Long Beach Poly, moved into US#3 in the 200 dash with a time of 23.62 and later ran a 53.86 in the 400 meter dash for a US#3.
- The 800 meter finals could not have been closer with 5 girls running under 2:12. Dynasty Gammage (Long Beach Poly) ran a 2:11.29 for the win followed by teammate Arielle Stevenson in 2:11.73, Hanna Edwards (El Toro) 2:11.87, Ashley Welker (West Ranch) 2:11.89 and Sara Van Dyke (Marina) 2:11.92.
- Erika Reddish (Vista Murrietta) won the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:51.18.
- Simi Valley freshman, Sarah Baxter, won the 3200 meter dash in a US#5 time of 10:16.99. Baxter already holds the US#3 spot with a 10:14.11.
- Melia Cox (Long Beach Poly) won the girls 100 hurdles with a US#1 time of 13.42. She also won the 300 meter hurdles in 40.94 for a US#1.
- Long Beach Poly Girls won the 4x100 relay in a US#2 time of 45.50 and the 4x400 in 3:45.08 for a US#7. Long Beach already holds the US#1 spot in the 4x100 and the US#4 in the 4x400.
- Kira Moreland (Los OSos) won the long jump with a US#3 leap of 20-00.50. Ashlie Curenton (Silverado) finished 2nd in 19-10.75 for a US#7.
- Melia Cox jumped a 40-06.00 in the triple jump, just shy of her US#7 41.2.75.
- Davonte Stewart (Miller A.B.) won the 100 meter dash in 20.89 for a US#5
- Shaquille Howard (Long Beach Poly) won the 200 meter dash for a US#15 time of 47.44.
- Three boys ran under 1:52 in the 800 meter run (all 9 finalist finished under 1:55) with Myles Andrews (Long Beach Poly) finishing 1st with a US#7 time of 1:51.08. Sophomore Brett Moulton (Santiago) finished 2nd in 1:51.80 for a US#17 followed by Ezekiel Glass (Silverado) who finished 3rd in 1:51.90 for a US#19.
- US#1 1600 runner Jantzen Oshier (Trabuco Hills) ran a 4:07.10 for a US#4. Oshier's US#1 time is 4:04.24. Connor Kaddatz (Dana Hills) finished 2nd for a US#17 time of 4:10.98.
- Ammar Moussa (Arcadia) won the boys 3200 meter run with an 8:54.85 US#7. Moussa holds the US#2 spot with an 8:49.59.
- Lane Werley (M.L. King) finished 2nd behind Moussa in the 3200 meter run with a US#10 time of 8:56.84.
- Eleanore Roosevelt boys won the 4x100 meter relay with a US#11 time of 41.01.
- Long Beach Poly (already at US#4 with a 3:13.52) won the 4x400 meter relay with a US#9 time of 3:15.06
- Adam Bragg (El Toro) won the pole vault in 16-03 for a US#16.
- Javonte Slater (Vista Murrieta) leaped into US#4 with a 24-11.75w high jump.
Southern Section Division 2
- Brean Buchanan (Ayala) won the girls 100 hurdles with a time of 13.90 for a US#15.
- Victoria Rische (Foothill) won the girls pole vault with a jump of 12-9.75 for a US#6.
- Alex Morgan threw the discus 156-05 for a US#11. Morgan already holds the US#7 spot.
- Elias Gedyon (Loyola) doubled in the 1600 meter in 4:11.15 and the 3200 in 9:00.97.
- Sultana sophomore, Jaelen Spencer, jumped to US#6 with a 50-02.25 in the triple jump.
- Ethan Cochran (Newport Harbor) won the discus throw with a toss of 195-4 for a US#5.
Southern Section Division 3
- Amy Weissenbach (Harvard Westlake) won the girls 800 meter run in 2:08.61 for a US#8. Weissenbach's time was the fastest time of the day across all divisions.
- Cami Chapus (Harvard Westlake) won the 3200 meter dash in 10:35.62. Chapus already holds the US#10 spot with a 10:29.76.
- The Harvard Westlake girls moved up to US#16 in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:48.14.
- Abrianna Torres (San Luis Obispo) won the long jump in 19-11.50 for a US#5.
- Remontay McClain (Covina) ran a 10.28w in the prelims of the 100 meter dash for a US#5 and a 10.31 in the finals for a US#3 unaided time.
- McClain also ran a 20.68 US#1 time in the 200 meter dash.
- Immanuel Hutchinson (San Jacinto) ran a 1:51.49 in the 800 meter run for a Division 3 record and a US#12.
- Sam Pons (South Pasadena) ran a 4:10.37 in the 1600 meter run for a US#14. He also ran a 9:02.42 in the 3200 meter run.
- US leader in the 110 hurldes, Johnathan Cabral (Agoura) ran a 13.54 for a US#2. He also won the 300 hurdles in 37.17.
- Katherine Delany (JSerra) set a new Division 4 record in the 1600 with a US#4 time of 4:46.82.
- La Toya Williams (Louisville) won the girls 100 dash in 11.78 followed by Alexandra Courtnall (Oaks Christian) in 11.90. The two girls swapped places in the 200 with Courtnal finishing 1st in 24.07 followed by Williams in 24.17.
- Serra sophomore, Chimere Ezumah, won the girls 400 meter dash in 55.68.
- Savannah Camacho (Templeton) won the 800 meter run in 2:11.53.
- Dawnielle Baucham (Serra Junipero) finished 1st in the 300 hurdles for a US#16 time of 42.36. Gianna Woodruff (St. Mary's Academy) finished 2nd at US#17 with a 42.37.
- Serra Junipero girls moved up to US#12 in the 4x100 meter relay by running 46.42. They also won the 4x400 meter relay in 3:45.40 for a US#8. Serra Junipero already sits at US#2 with a 3:42.58.
- Zibby Boyer (Pasadena Poly) set a new Division 4 record in the high jump with a 5-8 jump.
- Alexis Faulknor (Serra Junipero) jumped 19-5.75 for a US#15. Faulknor was just a half inch off her best US# 14 jump of 19-6.
- Toliver Rachel set a new Divison 4 record in the triple jump with a US#15 jump of 40-4.25.
Highlights
- Edward Cheserek, St. Benedict's Prep NJ, continues to have a great season, completing a fantastic triple. Cheserek won the 1600 run with a time of 4:10.92, the 3200 meters with an solid 8:53.65 and the 800 meter run with a time of 1:52.13.
IHSA Girls State Champs
Highlights
- Kayla Beattie, Woodstock IL, blasted a US#5 All-Time 9:56.96 for 3200 meters. She also added an impressive 4:43.65 for the 1600 meter run.
- Jena Hemann, Breese Central IL, completed an impressive quadruple with a 5-7 high jump, 37-11.75 triple jump, 12.02 100 meter dash and a fantastic 20-1.5 for the long jump.
Nevada State Champs
Highlights
- Nick Hartle, Centennial NV, blasted a state record time of 4:10.23 after following for three laps behind Bryan Jordan, Galena NV, who finished 2nd in 4:11.34. Hartle then came back on Saturday to win the 800 meter dash with another state record time of 1:49.91.
- Avion Allgood, Legacy NV, was a double winner as well, taking the shot put in 47-11.75 and the discus throw in 146-8.
West Virgina State Championships, WV
Jacob Burcham, Cabell Midland WV, starting the bell lap in the boys 3200 meter where he finished with a 57 final 400 to win in 9:11.29

- Sophomore Jacob Burcham, Cabell Midland WV, ran an impressive triple with a 1:54.01 in the 800; a 4:08.80 in the 1600 and a 9:11.29 in the 3200. Both the 1600 and the 3200 were PR's for Burcham.
Meet of Champions, AZ
Billy Orman, Tuba City, at the 1200 mark in 3:02
Billy Orman, Tuba City, will be making another attempt to break the Arizona State Record in the 1600 meter run after coming with .3 seconds of the 28 year old record of 4:06.44.

- Billy Orman, Tuba City, does it again........breaking the 28 year old Arizona State Record in the 1600 meter run in 4:05.29 for a US#2. The previous record of 4:06.44 was held by Jeff Canada from Greenway High School in 1983.
- Ashley Kealamakia, Liberty, won the girls 800 meter run in 2:11.24 for an Arizona #3 All Time mark.
Oregon State Meet 4A - 6A, OR
Highlights
- Ryan Crouser, Barlow OR, won the division 6A Discus and shot put throws without moving his feet! With a muscle tear in his right leg, Crouser's throws were long enough to give him the title throwing the discus 179-1 and the shopt put 65-07.50!
- Haley Crouser (younger sister to Ryan and Sam) won the girls javelin with a 169-07.
- JJ Juilff won the boys pole vault in 16-04.
- Chancey Summers, Estacada OR, jumped 5-10 in the high jump to win the 4A division and a US#4.

Highlights
- Kevin Lewis, Ottumwa, won the boys 3200 meter run in 9:05.25 for a new Iowa State Record!
- The boys 4x800 meter relay team from Spirit Lake Park won the 3A division with the fastest time of the day and a new Iowa State Record of 7:49.07.
- The Valley WDM girls also broke the Iowa State Meet Record in the 4x800 meter relay with a 9:13.88.
