High school superstar Lukas Verzbicas, Sandburg IL, took advantage of a slow early pace (2:14 half) to try and win the race over the last 200 meters. Verzbicas took the pace with 200 to go and looked to gap Andrew Baddeley and Craig Miller to take the win.  Baddeley battled back and beat out the younger runner 4:16.7 to 4:16.8.
