Highlights:

  • Ryan Crouser, OR, launched a monster 77-02.75 on his 5th throw to crush his own National record, set at 75-03.50 during his 2nd throw.
  • Shelby Ashe, GA, broke won the girls weight throw with a heave of 64-09.75 setting a new Simplot Games Record.  Ashe holds the US#1 spot at 65-2.
  • Dana Levy finished 2nd in the weight throw with a 59-07.
  • In the boys weight throw event, 3 individuals battled for the top spot.  Andrew Dunkelberger won the event with a US#3 toss of 69-09.85 followed closely by Ben Glauser who threw 69-08.25.  Enrique Caitan finished a close third with a throw of 67-09.75.
  • Brad Nye of Davis, UT leads the boys in the 1600 after todays prelims.
  • Alice Keller had the fastest qualifying time in the girls 1600 heading into the finals.
  • Dylan Morin leads the boys in the 3200 from prelims.
  • Trinity Wilson (St. Mary's, CA) won the the 60 meter hurdles for the third year in a row finishing with a US#1 8.28.  Wilson holds the meet freshman and sophomore meet records.
  • Kylie Price (Bishop Amat, CA) won the 60 meter dash in 7:45 for a US#3.  Hannah Cunfile (Decatur, WA) placed 2nd with a 7:47 setting a new freshman class record previous held by California sprinter Ashton Purvis (7.49).
  •  Sandrae Faruarson (Medgar Evers, NY) won the 400 meter dash in 54.45 for a US#1
  • Current US#1 leader Medgar Evers (Brookland, NY) won the 4x400 meter relay with a US#4 time of 3:48.07

Highlights:

  • Sean Sutton blasted a new US#1 in the boys 400 dash with a clocking of 47.63.  Michael Newton was 2nd in a US#2 time of 47.67.
  • Kendall Baisden, MI, lowered her US#1 time in the 400 dash with a winning time of 54.43.
  • Danielle Pfeifer, McAuley OH, rolled to a US#1 mark in the 800 with a winning time of 2:08.84.  Taneisha Cordell, New Albany OH, was 2nd with a US#3 time of 2:10.15.
  • Kendell Williams (Interview), Kell GA, tripled in impressive fashion, winning the long jump with a US#2 mark of 19-08.75, the high jump with a US#3 mark of 5-08.5, and the 60 meter hurdles with a US#6 time of 8.61.  
  • Tyler Anderson won the long jump with a mark of 23-06.25, just missing his own US#4 mark.
  • Jada Martin won the girls 200 dash with a time of 24.68.  Jada is currently ranked US#4 with a time of 24.60.
  • Matt Jablonski (Interview), Loyola Blakefield MD, won the boys mile with a time of 4:13.89 over Brannon Kidder, Lancaster OH, 4:15.72.
  • Gabrielle Anzalone (Interview), MI, won the girls mile with a time of 4:59.70 and then doubled back to win the 2 mile with a time of 10:49.00.
  • Jordan Moore (Interview) ran a US#3 time of 7.82 in the prelims of the 60 hurdles and won the finals with a time of 7.87. 
  • Jennifer Madu won the 60 meter dash with a US#5 time of 7.53.
  • Chrisjaan Smith won the boys high jump with a T-US#6 mark of 6-10.
  • Thomas Tallerico won the boys 800 with a US#6 time of 1:54.34.

 

TFCA of GP 46th Meet of Championships, PA

Highlights:

  • Rich D'Ambrosio of Malvern Prep added three inches and change to his already US top ten long jump to become the new US#4 performer in the event with his winning jump of 23-09.75.  Kevin Day of Glen Mills was 2nd with a PA#2 mark of 23-2.50.
  •  Darrell Hill of Penn Wood moved up to US#7 in the shot put and cracked 60 feet for the first time this season with a mark of 60-00.75.  Scott Rushton of Episcopal Academy finished 2nd with a PA#4 mark of 57-2.  
  • Trevell Moxey of North Penn won the triple jump with a PA#5 mark of 45-4.  Wellington Zaza of Upper Darby was 2nd with a PA#6 mark of 45-2.50.
  •  Zaza also won the 60 meter hurdles with a T-PA#2 of 8.14.  Eric Futch of Penn Wood ran the same time in the prelims, but finished 3rd in the finals.  Christian Lupica of Holy Ghost Prep stayed at PA#4 with a new time of 8.18.  
  • Scott Catalano of Lansdale Catholic improved his PA#6 mark to 7.03 to win the 60 meter dash.  Tyler Ross of Monsignor Bonner moved up to T-PA#8 with his 2nd place finish in 7.08.
  • Foot Locker Finalist Chris Campbell of Council Rock North won the mile with a PA#5 time of 4:21.43.  Drew Magaha of Upper Moreland was 2nd with a PA#9 time of 4:24.10.
  •  In a bit of an upset, Chidi Okezie of New Media Tech beat the state leader Matt Gilmore of Cheltenham in the 400 meter dash.  Okezie's time of 50.25 is PA#8.
  • Defending indoor 800 meter state champions Luke Lefebure of West Chester Henderson ran a PA#6 time of 1:57.02 to win the 800 meter run.  Jake Delehman of Radnor was 2nd with a PA#8 time of 1:57.67.
  • Yini Donnie of Northeast improved his PA#3 time in the 200 meter dash with his winning time of 22.49.  Dan Ernst of Central Bucks West was 2nd with a PA#7 mark of 22.84 and Jeremy Irving of Garnet Valley was 3rd with a PA#8 time of 22.86.  
  • Dustin Wilson of Chestnut Hill Academy won the 3000 meter run, improving his PA#4 time to 8:52.74.  Michael McGowan of Lower Merion was 2nd with a PA#7 time of 8:58.28, and Alex Izewski of Central Bucks East was 3rd with a PA#9 time of 8:58.55.
  • In the relays, Wilson anchored his distance medley to their first ever state qualifier in a distance relay, anchoring a 4:19 1600 leg to lead his team to a 4th place finish in a PA#9 time of 10:47.00.  Wissahickon won the relay with a PA#3 time of 10:35.56.  Boyertown was 2nd in a PA#7 time of 10:34.79.  
  • Lasalle won the 4x800 with a PA#4 time of 8:04.21, with Wissahickon finishing right behind them in a PA#5 time of 8:05.16.  
  • Straith Haven won the 4x200 in 1:32.45, and Abington won the 4x400 in 3:24.60. Cardinal O'Hara was 2nd in a PA#4 time of 3:25.23.

TSTCA Indoor Championships, PA

Highlights:

  • Richard Rouse of Penn Hills won the long jump and triple jump with two US#5 marks.  Rouse won the long jump with a PA#2 mark of 23-9 and won the triple jump with a new state leading mark of 48-1.50.  Mark McClelland of Trinity was 2nd behind Rouse with a PA#5 throw of 23-00.75.  McClennand did win the high jump with a clearance of 6-6.  John Dahlstrand of McDowell was 2nd in the high jump with aT-PA#3 mark of 6-5.  Ian Welsh of Pittsburgh Central Catholic was 2nd in the triple jump with a PA#3 mark of 46-5.50 and Shawn Johnson of Canon-McMillan was 3rd with a T-PA#6 mark of 45-4.
  • Luke Monta of Greensburg Salem moved up to PA#2 in the shot put with his winning throw of 58-9.50.  David Reinhardt of Bradford Area was 2nd with a PA#5 throw of 56-4.50.
  • Patrick Anderson of Kane Area won the pole vault with a mark of 14 feet even.
  • Dakoda Walker of McDowell won the 60 meter dash with a PA#7 time of 7.04.  
  • Greg Garmon of McDowell won the 200 meter dash in a PA#2 time of 22.38.  
  • Brandon Krszal of West Allegheny won the 800 meter run with a PA#4 time of 1:56.43.  
  • Paul DeGregorio of Baldwin won the 3000 meter run with a PA#6 time of 8:57.73 with Logan Steiner of North Allegheny finishing 2nd in a PA#8 time of 8:58.15.
  • Grant Kiawua of Thomas Jefferson won the 60 meter hurdles with a PA#7 time of 8.36.
  • McDowell won the 4x200 meter relay with a PA#3 time of 1:31.13.  Pittsburgh Central Catholic won the distance medley with a PA#6 time of 10:41.14 with North Allegheny finishing 2nd with a PA#7 time of 10:43.15.
  • For the girls, Iman Wilkerson of Penn Hills equaled her PA#2 time in the 60 meter dash with her winning time of 7.67 and won the 200 meter dash, improving her PA#2 time of 25.15.  Erikka Williams of Rochester was 2nd with a PA#7 time of 7.93.  
  • Williams did win the long jump with a PA#4 mark of 18-3.25.
  • Nicole Hilton of South Fayette won the 3000 meter run with a PA#6 time of 10:18.94.
  •  Natalie Shiffler of Hempfield Area cleared a T-PA#3 mark of 5-6 to win the high jump.  Paige Rittelman of Butler was 2nd with a T-PA#5 height of 5-4.
  • Larisa Debich of Hempfield cleared 12-6 to win the pole vault.
  • Anna Chodubski of McDowell was 2nd in the long jump with a PA#7 mark of 17-9.50
  • Rachel Serafin of Hempfield won the shot put with a mark of 40-11.  Jennifer Neider of Hickory finished 2nd with a PA#5 mark of 39-6 with her teammate Taylor Woods finishing 3rd in a PA#6 mark of 39-2 and Margaux Krahe of Bethel Park was 4th with a T-PA#7 mark of 39 feet even.

  • Andrew Irwin, Mount Ida AR, won the pole vault with a T-US#4 All-Time performance.  The clearance was a stunning PR and US#1 mark of 17-04.50.  

 

Mass Divisional Champs, MA

Coverage:

Division 1 Highlights:

  • Andrea Keklak, Lincoln-Sudbury, won the 1000 meter run with a new meet record time of 2:49.88, improving on her US#2 clocking.  
  • Kendal Knous, Franklin, set a new 600 meter run meet record with her US#6 clocking of 1:34.43.
  • John Murray, Shrewbury, won the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:23.35.

Division 2 Highlights:

  • Greg Boursiquot, Stoughton, won the 55 hurdles with a MA All-Time and US#1 clocking of 7.37.  
  • Shayne Collins, Mansfield, ran to an impressive solo win in the 2 mile with a US#2 time of 9:14.51

Division 3 Highlights:

  • Billy Looney, Bishop Feehan, won the 1000 meter run with a US#7 time of 2:29.99.
  • Pembroke girls won the team title while Bishop Feehan won their 2nd straight boys title.

  • Eastern Region:
    • JaQuan Demiel, Lakeland, ran a US#1 7.35 to win the boys 55 meter hurdles.  
    • Thireyona Legg, Booker T. Washington, won the girls 500 with a US#4 clocking of 1:14.61.
    • Malique Key, Woodside, won the boys 55 dash with a US#7 time of 6.39.
    • Jeremy Greenwald had a nice double, winning the 1600 in 4:15.62 and the 1000 in 2:31.71.
    • Amanda Smith, Grassfield, won a thrilling girls 1000 with a US#9 clocking of 2:54.48.  Audrey Betzel, Ocean Lakes, was 2nd in a US#11 time of 2:54.94.
    • Justin Burke, First Colonial, won the boys 500 meter dash with a US#10 time of 1:05.13.
    • Keilah Tyson, Western Branch, won the girls 55 dash in 6.90.  
    • Desmonae Gray, Western Branch, took the girls triple jump in 39-07.50.
    • Grassfield, VA) boys ran 8:00.69 in the 4x800 behind the anchor of Michael Greenwald, a 2:27 1000 meter runner).
  • Region II: Krista DeCeault, Sherando, blazed a 10:48.93 3200 on a 160yd track.
  • Region IV: George Carter, Blacksburg, won the 1600 with a swift US#8 time of 4:13.

 

 

NJSIAA Group Championships, NJ

Highlights:

  • Joelle Amaral, Randolph, won the Group 4 1600 in 4:52.98 for a US#6 and then doubled back in the Group 4 800 with a 2:14.47 US#5 victory with a lean. An impressive double!
  • Olivia Baker, Columbia, won the Group 4 400 dash with a time of 56.99.
  • Ajee Wilson, Neptune, triples with victories over 400 (55.91 for US#7), 800 (2:16.11 for US#8) and 1600 (5:01.25).
  • Nick Vena, Morristown, won the shot put with a heave of 70-04.50.
  • Najee Glass, St. Peters Prep, won the 400 dash with a time of 49.19.
  • Megan Venables, Highland, won the 3200 in 10:38.18 for a US#4

Highlights:

  • Emma Keenan, Gwynedd Mercy, won a thrilling 800 over Elyse Wilkinson, Penn Charter, with a US#3 time of 2:13.09.  Wilkinson was 2nd in 2:13.34 for 2nd (already US#2 2:12.53) and Lindsey Rheiner, Council Rock North, was 3rd with a US#4 time of 2:14.16.  Keenan's time was a new meet record.
  • Leah Nugent, Abington, won the 60 meter hurdles with a US#4 clocking of 8.57 for a new meet record.
