Pepsi Florida Relays HS Race Video
--
Westwood out of South Carolina went down to Pepsi Florida Relays and cruised to improve their US#1 time from 1:23.30 at the Redhawk Invitational to a 1:22.95!
The team of Jayden Wilson, Jamey Patterson, Myles Bryant and Jayden Boyd competed against Florida's best as well as Bullis School (MD) with Cameron Homer and Quincy Wilson who were US#2 indoors running 1:24.32 at adidas Track Nationals.
The event was three heats of timed finals with Westwood competing in Heat 1. Alongside Flanagan (FL), Bullis School was out well with Homer on the lead off leg and Wilson on the second leg looking to have a slight lead on Westwood. But as they'd go to the second exchange it looked pretty even between the three squads with 400m and two legs to go.
On the third leg for Westwood, Bryant reeled in Bullis who was on their outside and was ahead of Flanagan who were in lane 6 with Westwood in lane 4. At the final exchange Westwood was ahead and had the inside track over the final curve and would be hard to catch.
Down the homestretch Jayden Boyd pulled away to take the win in 1:22.95 with Flanagan at 1:24.32 and Bullis at 1:24.47 in a new Pepsi Florida Relays Meet Record!
Watch Westwood run a US#1 4x200m at Florida Relays
Westwood is one of two schools in the country to go under 1:24 this season along with Servite (CA) who did so at Texas A&M Bluebonnet. Only eight schools were under 1:24 in all of 2025 with only Iowa Colony (TX) under 1:23 who ran 1:22.49.
Later in the day, Flanagan would beat Westwood in the 4x100m Finals running 40.69 to 40.78 with Bishop Moore in third at 40.88. Flanagan posted a 40.35 in the prelims to be the top qualifying team to the finals just off their 40.13 season best.
There is a lot of talk about Texas versus Florida versus California when it comes to the sprint relays, but Westwood has proven South Carolina is not listening to the conversation as they look to be the best 4x200m Relay squad in the country at this point in the outdoor season.
