Stanner Games: Jane Hickey Continues Her Breakout Season
Jane Hickey continues to establish herself as one of the most consistent and versatile middle-distance runners in the country. At the Stanner Games, the Ursuline senior delivered a standout performance in the 600 meters, running 1:28.68 to post the second-fastest time ever by a New Yorker in the event.
The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill commit has been building momentum throughout the indoor season, and her performance at Stanner was another clear indicator of her range. Earlier this winter, Hickey ran a 400m personal best of 54.86 at the Armory Hispanic Games and a 500m PR of 1:13.82 at the JAMBAR Coaches Hall of Fame Invitational. She has also added personal bests in the 1000 meters at the Jim Mitchell Invitational and the 1600 meters at the MSTCA Boston Holiday Challenge, where she ran 2:50.93 and 4:53.99, respectively.
