As we approach the penultimate racing weekend of the year, the nation's best continue to fire on all cylinders.
While the majority of the country was enjoying a weekend without racing, Californians were giving it everything they had as they competed at the CIF State Championships.
After clocking 19:12 in his lone 5k effort of his freshman year, Ontario Christian's (Calif.) Nathan Lacambra knocked over two and a half minutes off of his PB, running 16:30.80 at the CIF D5 State Championships, placing 47th.
In total, Lacambra lowered his previous best by 2:41.30, making him one of just three Californians to improve by more than two minutes.
