As states around the country begin to wrap up their respective postseasons, there are plenty of athletes that have put themselves in better positions heading into the end of the season.

David Salas, a senior out of San Angelo Cornerstone Christian (Texas)  is the top improver so far this fall, taking off nearly two and a half minutes from his 2023 best.

At the Eric Stinson Invitational, Salas finished runner-up in 15:18.36, lowering his previous mark of 17:37.77.

The country's fastest runner, Corbin Coombs, a senior from Organ Mountain (N.M.), ran 14:30.5 at the Organ Mountain Rob Winter Classic, taking off a minute from his best mark as a junior.
