Philadelphia, PA - On Friday, Veronica Vacca (Mount Saint Joseph) won her third straight Penn Relays Pole Vault Title. Thus, she joined Avery Lewis as two Pennsylvanians accomplished a three-peat in the same day.
Vacca secured the victory as the only competitor to make it over 13-3 (4.04 meters), clearing the winning height on her first attempt.
"I wanted to be consistent, to make first attempts. You know that didn't happen right away, but I got there," Vacca said in reference to the three attempts she took at 12-3.25. Vacca went on to clear every mark on her first attempt until she was the only remaining athlete in the competition.
"I was really excited to jump today. I love the energy here," Vacca added. "It was such a good vibe, and with good competition, too."
