WATCH: Lillian Harden Staked Claim On U.S. No. 1 100mH Time

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. -- Lillian Harden left no doubt.

The Bridgeland High School senior and University of Iowa recruit left the field in her dust to claim a new U.S. No. 1 wind-legal time of 13.65 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles at the Texas A&M Bluebonnet Invitational on Saturday at E.B. Cushing Stadium.

The performance not only improved on her 14.06 from the prelims on Friday, but it also moved past her season-opening best of 13.72 from Feb. 17 at the Buffalo Relays.

Harden has a big season in front of her following her second-place finish at the UIL Class 6A Texas State Championships in 2023. Last May, she needed a career best 13.82 for the distance.

On Saturday, she moved past the former national No. 1 time of 13.78 owned by Aleesa Samuel of Somerset Academy in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
