The 4x400m is typically the grand finale of any outdoor track and field meet.
More often than not, it also plays a big role in determining who comes out on top in the team race as well. Plus, it's incredibly hype and exhilarating as athletes sprint back-and-forth across the infield to cheer on their school.
Last year, Southwest Dekalb (GA) ended the season as the top team in the country, clocking 3:10.55 at the GHSA State Championships.
With the 2024 season just around the corner, it looks like Humble Atascocita (TX) could open the year as the favorites, thanks to the four guys they have coming back.
Led by Iowa signee Landon Fontenot (47.59), the Eagles have three more under 49.7 -- and that's not even including Jelani Watkins, a state contender in the 200m who will likely feature for the team in the relay down the stretch.
