Which Shot Put Throwers Have Explosive Sprint Speed?

When it comes to throwing events such as the shot put, we typically think of how strong the athletes are. Interestingly enough, though, some throwers have considerable speed as well. 

Which shot putters in the U.S. are the fastest? 

Take Miles Burr of Mt.Desert Island (ME). The high school senior has thrown a shot put best of 36-5 and clocked a time of 22.36 seconds over 200m. Burr's sprint performance is among the top 500 performances in the U.S. and lands him at No. 225 overall. 

But ... maybe we should clarify -- that was Burr's first ever throw. 

What's more, Burr also holds Maine's outdoor state record in the 200m with a time of 21.67. So technically,  he's more of a sprinter than a thrower. 

Still ... it counts.
