* Over the weekend, Bullis School (MD) broke the national high school record in the sprint medley relay at The VA Showcase

This weekend was a historic one for the Bullis School (MD) boys as the powerhouse program wrapped up The VA Showcase on Saturday with a national high school record in the sprint medley relay and a No. 2 all-time performance in the 500m.
They're not finished.
On Friday, the Bulldogs are aiming for another national record during the Hall of Fame Invitational inside the Armory in New York City.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to feature Quincy Wilson, Colin Abrams, Alexander Lambert and Julian Roberson as they attempt to down a 14-year-old 4x800 record by Albemarle High School (VA), which secured a time of 7:36.99 at Nike Indoor Nationals back in 2009.
In recent years, there have been other attempts: Loudoun Valley (VA) came close in 2018, pitching a time of 7:39.30 and then a year later Weddington (NC) followed, finishing with an effort of 7:40.65. Last year at New Balance Nationals Indoor, Hinsdale Central (IL) scored a national title in 7:43.82.
A new national record would need an average of roughly 1:54 per carry.
Bullis doesn't currently have four athletes with PRs adding up to that time. But that could be deceiving. The Bulldogs have the star power to accomplish the feat.
In December, Abrams, a high school junior, clocked the second-fastest time in the nation in the open 800m with a 1:53.84.
Then there's Wilson. He's coming off a legendary 500m, where he posted the second-best time in history in 1:01.27. In the 800m, he has a personal best of 2:00, which he ran back in 2022 -- back when he was in the eighth grade.
Since then, Wilson has compiled freshman class records in the 300m, 400m, 500m and 600m.
A few weeks ago, Wilson ran 1:17 for 600m. Lambert and Roberson both set lifetime bests in the 800m this year with times of 2:01 and 2:03, respectively.
