The 2024 season is already off to a fast start.
Nearly 500 boys improved on their 60m performances within the last year. Looking at the numbers more closely, seven boys shaved more than four-tenths of a second in the short sprint and over 110 dropped more than two-tenths of a second.
In just one season, Kendrick Joshua of Richmond Hill showed the most improvement as he nearly shaved half a second off his best. He debuted his season with a 7.09 in the 60m to finish in the top 10 at the Galleria Games.
Meanwhile, on the girls side, roughly 400 girls showcased new bests in 2024.
Courtney McDonald of Plainfield East leads the way by shaving .59 off her best in 2-23. She's run 7.71 this winter to kick off the season.
